TUITION POLICY

Thank you for entrusting me with your musical journey. To ensure you receive the most effective and creative education, I have established the following policies. Tuition rates are based on the cost of the time spent with students in lessons and performances. Tuition also includes time spent preparing for lessons, my training and experience, professional organization memberships (OMTA and MTNA), my National Teaching Certification through MTNA, continued education to keep my teaching up-to-date, studio expenses, studio maintenance, and studio supplies.

TUITION:  Tuition is paid per term. There are four terms for each year: Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer.   Tuition rates are as follows: $33 per 30-minute lesson, $48 per 45-minute lesson, $63 per 60-minute lesson.  Expect tuition rates to change yearly according to increases in cost of living.

INVOICES:  I will provide you with an invoice via email.  Tuition is due at the first lesson of the term. Unless an agreement is arranged in advance, tuition that is paid later than 5 days past the first lesson will result in a $25 late fee.

REFUNDS: Refunds will not be given unless there are extenuating circumstances.

MISSED LESSONS:  If a student misses a lesson, they miss out on the benefit of the one-on-one time that is provided during that lesson. Your tuition pays for far more than just the time spent in lessons. If a lesson has to be missed, provide 24 hours notice.  Rescheduled lessons will not be granted if 24 hours notice is not given or if a student does not attend without giving notice.  The option to have a lesson online is available. A recorded lesson is also an option if the student is not well enough to attend an online lesson. If you need to have an online lesson instead of an in-person lesson, you can change the format of the lesson by contacting me at least an hour before the lesson is set to begin. If I miss a lesson due to illness or other emergency, I will reschedule the lesson.

TERMINATION:  I understand that not everyone will take piano lessons forever.  If a student wishes to discontinue taking lessons, please discuss it with me first.  Termination can sometimes be avoided by making adjustment to the student’s lesson.  I am willing to work with parents and students to make appropriate changes in their lessons. If the student still wishes to stop, please provide at least two weeks notice for any type of cancellation, whether it be permanent or temporary.  Refunds will be given only in extenuating circumstances.

COSTS NOT INCLUDED IN TUITION: Curriculum for individual students is not covered in the cost of tuition. The costs associated with OMTA events (recitals, festivals, Syllabus, etc.) is also the responsibility of students.

Parents will be required to sign an agreement stating that they have read and understand my Tuition Policy before lessons begin.
